THE ANSWER WAITS
Suddenly and blundered
beneath
a razor slip of
air
the questions come
Constricting
suffering the intellect
with pleas for yes
and no
answers
Silence is a
squeeze
ropes the throat
chokes
the noise
like a leech
sucks life
blood out of body
drained, depleted
divorced
This heart is hard
and flesh is naught
petrified for fear
and the sake of the
unbearable
If the answer cannot be
spoken
life is reduced to little faith
and a cloud of unknowing
